Job Description

Tanzania Health Environment and Development Initiatives (THEDI) is a registered local NGO dedicated to improving public health and well-being in Tanzania. In partnership with our stakeholders, we are conducting a rapid evaluation of our oral health outreach programs. We are seeking motivated and qualified individuals to join our team as temporary Field Enumerators.

Position: Field Enumerator (Data Collector)
Number of Vacancies: 4
Location: Misungwi District, Mwanza Region
Duration: 8 Days (Field Work)

Requirements

• Education: Minimum of a Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Public Health, Statistics, or a related field.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in using smartphones/tablets and digital data collection software (e.g., ODK, KoboToolbox).
• Language: Fluency in Swahili and English is required; knowledge of local languages used in Misungwi is a significant advantage.
• Soft Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in rural environments.
• Residence: Preference will be given to candidates currently residing in Misungwi or Mwanza.
 

Responsibilities

• Conduct face-to-face interviews with community members using mobile data collection tools (KoboToolbox).
• Perform "spot checks" to verify the reach and retention of oral health messages.
• Ensure accurate data entry and daily synchronization with the supervisor.
• Maintain the highest level of confidentiality and ethical standards during field interactions.
• Participate in a mandatory pre-enumeration training session.
