Genofeva Michael Buxay (Geno) is a finance expert with over 10 years of extensive experience working on USAID-funded projects. Geno holds Executive MBA (General) from the Eastern and Southern Africa Management Institute (ESAMI). She has exceptionally well versed in grants under contract, financial reporting and operational management, project management, strategic planning, procurement systems, and USAID financial regulations.
Periodically, Geno holds different roles including among others the Finance and Administration Manager (FAM), and Finance Officer of Abt Associates Inc. under various US President Malaria Initiatives (PMI) projects. Her substantial expertise cuts across finances and project management, where she oversees the functioning of the finance and administration department by supervising four staff. Her significant expertise was revealed in using the budget tracking tool to prepare and monitor the spending against the work plan budget. Consequently, her technical know-how enabled the project spending to be within the acceptable project budget throughout. Her potential interpersonal and coordination skills were seen as an asset to the technical team of the project, she led them in forecasting their expenditures reflecting the work plan budget monthly for wire transfer requests from the home office.
