SENGEREMA — Tanzania Health Environment and Development Initiatives (THEDI) has officially launched the expansion of its oral health promotion project in Sengerama District following a high profile project inception meeting.
The District Commissioner officiated the milestone event, signaling strong government backing for the initiative. Key district leaders attended the meeting to align on implementation strategies, including the District Executive Director (DED), Council Chairperson, and the Council Health Service Board Chairperson. The District Medical Officer (DMO), Regional Dental Officer (RDO), and other primary decision makers also participated to ensure seamless integration into the district's existing healthcare framework.
Following the successful inception meeting, the project team will immediately transition into comprehensive logistics assessments and micro-planning phases. These preparatory steps will pave the way for the official rollout of field activities, with the actual implementation schedule set to kick off in July. This scaling-up effort aims to significantly improve oral hygiene awareness, preventive care access, and overall health outcomes across Sengerama communities.
